GENOA - Edward E. Matthews, 50, died unexpectedly Monday, June 17, 2013, at his home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1962, in Warren, to Cecil E. and Betty L. Crain Matthews.
He was a 1980 graduate of Lakeview High School, Cortland.
Ed was a store manager for Beck Enterprises, where he ran the Sunoco Gas Station in Oak Harbor. Ed had a wonderful work ethic and loved to chat about the goings on with the store customers.
Survivors include his son, Robert Matthews of Rossford; his mother of Cortland; brother, Jack (Debbie) Rathburn of Champion; sister, Jean (Aaron) Ensign of Howland; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Hayden, Carter and Chloe Matthews; special friend, Tracy Wells; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Judy Damico.
Services will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. state Route 51, Elmore, Ohio 43416, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m.
Burial will be at a later date in Cortland.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
