Naples, Fla. - Philip F. "Phil" Russo, 75, formerly of Niles and Ashtabula, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Lakewood Manor Care in Naples, Fla.
Phil was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Niles, the first son of John and Winifred Law Russo.
Phil was married to Jacqueline Barnabo Russo, his soulmate, for 55 years. Jackie preceded Phil in Heaven in 2010.
A 1955 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Warren, Phil graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.
He worked for Packard Electric Division GMC for 30 years as a production supervisor and production engineer before retiring in 1995.
Phil fulfilled his lifelong desire and became an artist in his retirement, sharing his love of life through his paintings.
He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Naples, Fla., and a past member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Stephen's Churches in Niles. Phil was also past president of the Hallwood Homeowners Association in Ashtabula and the Lakewood Homeowners Association in Naples.
Phil will be forever loved by his four children, Stephen S. (Melanie) Russo of Apollo Beach, Fla., Philip A. (Terri) Russo and Lenore L. Lentz, both of Naples, Fla., and Gina Russo (Ray) Hull of Niles; his brother, John J. (Karen) Russo Jr. of Pelham, Ala.; his six grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Pamela, Paul, Anthony and Samantha; and great-granddaughters, Colleen and Natalie.
