WARREN - Warren City Schools is in line to get back $35,000 that went missing more two years ago.
In a report released today by Auditor of State Dave Yost, a finding for recovery was issued in favor of the district's athletic fund in the amount of $35,000.
After being alerted by the district in 2011, the auditor's office determined that a total of $46,000 in cash receipts were missing, not deposited or were incorrectly reported.
A school employee has already paid the $11,000 difference.
The audit also found that the district remains financially strong, has a sufficient cash balance to meet operating expenses through fiscal year 2014 and is continuing its plan to control future spending.
