NILES - A Vienna man found himself and his truck walking the highwire after running a red light while driving Northbound on North Main Street about 11:30 a.m.

Lawrence Horkey, 35, was driving a pickup truck for Antenucci Inc. through the intersection of North Road and North Main Street, when the side of his vehicle was struck by the pickup truck of Michael Luich.

The impact sent Horkey off the road, over a road sign and up the guard wires attached to a nearby telephone pole. No one was injured in the accident, though Horkey was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital to be checked out.

According to Niles traffic Officer Shawn Crank, Horkey is at fault in the accident. Luich was allowed to leave the scene shortly after. His truck suffered minor damage with the front bumper falling off, while Horkey's vehicle had a deep indent and mangled front bumper from the wires.
