STOW - Edward Paul Kovach, 92, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, at Briarwood in Stow.
He was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Northfield, the son of the late Bertilan Kovacs and Anna Lade Kovacs.
He married Hazel L. Myers on Feb. 23, 1950.
He was employed as a machinist with Wean United Corp. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church,VFW, American Legion Southington Post, and enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his daughters, Beverly (Randy) Saffell of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Susan Allshouse of Stow, Edward is survived by his five grandchildren, William Saffell of Broken Arrow, Edward Saffell of Tulsa, Okla., Jeffrey Allshouse of Berea, and Nathaniel and Edward Allshouse, both of Stow; and four great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kovach, who passed away, Jan. 13, 2012.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends are kindly invited to call one hour prior to the service. Edward will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
