WARREN - Michael D. "Mickey" Santone, 72, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center.
Michael was born Jan. 28, 1941, in Warren, the son of Anthony and Anne Santone.

With the help of his family and YSU faculty, he went on to complete a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He was a daily fixture at the Warren YMCA. With their generosity of a lifetime membership that allowed him the physical and mental therapy that he needed, and with his own self-discipline and determination, he was able to maintain a somewhat normal life. He enjoyed reading and gardening.
He served in U.S. Army during the Berlin Wall and Cuban Missile crises.
Michael is survived by his brothers, Carmen (Kathy) Santone of Warren, Paul (Susan) Santone of Southington and Anthony Santone of Newton Township; a sister, JoAnn "Josie" Santone of Lordstown; and two aunts, Virginia Santone of Champion and Pauline Rubinate of Brooklyn, N.Y.
