BRACEVILLE - Ruth Etta Lawson, 77, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at her home.
Ruth was born at home in Braceville on Dec. 2, 1935, the daughter of Irwin and Lenora Grinter Haney.
On Dec. 17, 1957, Ruth married her husband, Charles Lawson, and they spent 55 years together.
Ruth was a part of the Women of the Moose Chapter 644 and served as a past Girl Scout leader. When her children were young and played baseball, she enjoyed cheering them on not only as their mother but as their coach. Ruth loved bocce, bowling, fishing, swimming, garage sales, shopping for bargains and going to the casino.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Charles Lawson; children, Herbert Lawson, April (Donald) Rader and Douglas Kilgore; grandchildren, Alexis, Haylee, Herbie, Shanna, Nicholas, Sonia, Douglas and Brian; great-grandchildren, Jaida, Landon, Alaina, Madison and McKensie; sister, Violet (Ralph) Gellispie; daughter-in-law, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; son, Craig Kilgore; and grandson, Craig Allan.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive N.E., Warren, where services for Ruth will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be at the Braceville Cemetery.
