Sun. 7:20pm: Man jailed on burglary, kidnapping charges

June 16, 2013
Tribune Chronicle |

WARREN - A hang-up on a 911 call led police to an active aggravated burglary and kidnapping on North Park Avenue about 10 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Warren Township police arrived at the source of the call, knocked on the door and were met by a woman running down from the second story.

"Everything looked in order until she opened the door," Warren Township police Lt. Donald Bishop said.

He said she was followed by a white male with a bandanna covering his face and she yelled out "He's robbing me!"

The man, John A. Thompson, 40, 123 Dickey Ave., had used a crowbar to force his way into the house and was using it to threaten the woman and her son as he moved from room to room ransacking her house, Bishop said. As he did so, the woman was able to dial 911.
