WARREN -- City police on Thursday were looking for a man, possibly wounded, who they believe may have been involved in a scuffle outside an apartment on Tod Avenue.
Police were called about 6 p.m. to 970 Tod Ave. N.W. on reports of shots being fired at the house, which has been converted into several apartments.
Police said an apartment resident, who was not named, identified the man as Antonio Jones and told officers that Jones came to the apartment looking for him. He told them that Jones said he had been pistol whipped.
He and other witnesses inside the house said they heard a scuffle in the hall.
Initially police suspected the man ran away on foot. However, several witnesses outside, who did not want to be identified, said they saw a man run from the back of the house into a parking lot behind it, circle back along Summit Street N.W. toward Tod Avenue N.W. and jump into a dark SUV.
According to police scanner traffic, a bloody shirt was found later in a roadway in the 1200 block of Tod Ave. N.W.
