NILES - Gilbert Baker Parry Jr., 70, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was the son of the late Gilbert B. and Kathryn Pahon Parry Sr.
Gilbert was a 1960 graduate of Maplewood High School and retired from Schaefer Equipment after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Liberty Bible School in Vienna and also Free Will Baptist Church in Warren.
Mr. Parry was a sports fanatic, especially for the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed attending Scrappers games. He also liked leathering and coin collecting.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sandra Morrell, whom he married July 18, 2010; his son, Kevin (Gina) Parry of Cortland; three grandchildren, Jackie (Lee) Donnelly, Teagan Parry and Tannor Drum; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn and Rheanna Bingham and Karma Donnelly. Mr. Gilbert also has two siblings who survive, Shirley (Bill) Gardner of Cortland and Bonnie MacKendrick of Austintown.
Other than his parents, Gilbert was preceded in death by his son, Keith Parry.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. June 20 at Johnston Township Cemetery Chapel, where Pastor Allan McCracken will celebrate Gilbert's life.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, in Cortland.
