LAKELAND, Fla. - Donna M. Wilk, 88, formerly of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at her residence in Lakeland.
Donna was born on March 1, 1925, in Junction City, Ohio, the daughter of Kirk and Florence Wollenburg Basham.
On Sept. 4, 1948, Donna and Henry "Hank" Wilk were united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ravenna.
The couple briefly resided in Warren prior to relocating to Newton Falls.
They were blessed with their three children, Larry, Patricia and Ellen. As a homemaker, Donna was a loving wife and mother.
Pleasurable pastimes included knitting, crocheting, reading, crafts and golf.
Residing in Florida since 1984, Donna was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lakeland. She was formerly a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton Falls.
Treasured memories of Donna will be carried on by her loving family, her son, Larry Wilk; her daughters, Patricia Huberty and Ellen (Jim) Greeley; her grandchildren, Tracy Blama, Brian Moore, Brandon Greeley and Katie Stone; her great-grandchildren, Darren Moore, Bret Moore, Avery Greeley, Peyton Greeley, Mason Stone, Robert Hubbard and Ashley Corradene; and her great-great-grandchildren, Zander Hubbard and Aiden Hubbard.
Preceding Donna were her husband, Henry; her brothers, Francis and Donald; and her sister, Dorothy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls, where a prayer service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish in Newton Falls.
Donna will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris Township.
The family requests that material tributes may be made in memory of Donna to Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd. N.W., Winter Haven, Fla.
