RALEIGH, N.C. - Kenneth Gene Barnett, 61, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, after a short illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Warren, the son of Kenneth P. and Dolores E. Bean Barnett.
Ken was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He readily shared his avid interests of movies, music, history, F1 racing, politics, wines, travel and photography with all. He was also an NRA Endowment member.
He graduated from Youngstown State University with an electrical engineering degree and received his master's from Syracuse University. He was employed with ARM Inc. in Austin, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Chloe Dishong Barnett of Cary, N.C.; a son, Kristian A. (Alice) of Cuyahoga Falls; a brother, Donald P. of Girard; five grandchildren, Robert, Kristica and Kody Barnett, and Evan and Ryan Hodson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Newton Falls; and two sisters, Marian Barnett of Warren and Carol Barnett Parish of Howland.
The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers go to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St., Raleigh, NC 27605; put on memo line - For Researchers Konstanin Birukova and Ming-Hui Fan.
Arrangements were handled by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas.
