African American Achievers Festival kicks off

Gwendolyn Cheatham of Liberty sings the black national anthem, ''Lift Every Voice and Sing" to kick off the 29th annual African American Achievers Festival in downtown Warren on Friday. The festival continues today and Sunday.

Noon - Parade with grand marshal Bishop David Herron and first lady Brenda Herron.

Noon to 4 p.m. - Third annual health fair on the square.

2 to 3 p.m. - Obama line dance at the health fair tent.

3 to 6:30 p.m. - Talent show with members of Youngstown's Total Package Band.

6:30 to 7 p.m. - Line dancing with Sharp Entertainment.

7:15 to 8:15 - Craig Robinson and Company Band.

8:30 to 10:30 p.m. - Recording artist Michael Austin.


3 to 7 p.m. - La'Mon Howard and Company presents local and out-of-state choirs, vocalists and mimes.

8 to 10 p.m. - Closing remarks by Bob Davis, TCAAAA president, and benediction with Jazz Band and music by Sharp Entertainment.
