My husband and I visited several cemeteries this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised at the condition found at the Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
The grounds had been nicely mowed and cared for. One of the items drawing our attention was the fact that each and every tombstone or headstone has been cleaned and swept of debris.
This was the first time we had ever encountered such care. The cemetery is quite large, so we know it took many hours of labor. And then to come upon the one section where the graves for military personnel lost was a sobering site. American flags and red geranium had been placed at each grave.
We feel the city of Warren should be commended for the superb care of this facility.
