Thu. 1:36pm: County recorder warns of scams

WARREN - Trumbull County Recorder Diana Marchese is warning residents of a company from Northbrook, Ill., charging nearly $60 for uncertified copies of property deeds.

Marchese said a certified copies can be obtained through her office for $5 and copies can be printed from her website for free.

People who are unable to come into her office, 160 High St. N.W., can send a request, $5 check and self-addressed, stamped envelope. Marchese said the request would be processed the day its received.

A certified copy is stamped and can be used as an original document.
