WARREN - April unemployment figures for Trumbull and Mahoning counties dipped more than half a percentage point from March and remained flat compared to last year at this time.
Area jobless rates were listed at 7.6 percent in April for the two-county area, the same as it was in April 2012. March numbers were 8.3 percent for the same area.
According to figures released this morning by Ohio Job and Family Services, about 800 fewer workers, or 193,600, were employed in Trumbull and Mahoning counties than last year at this time, but the size of the civilian workforce also declined by 800 to 209,500 last month. Just one month earlier, the workforce was listed at 210,400, with only 193,000 employed in the two counties.
