WEST FARMINGTON - Walter C. "Wild Goose" Cox, 79, entered eternal rest Sunday evening, May 12, 2013, at his home, which was once the Cox family farm.
Walter was born Dec. 21, 1933, to the late George and Helen Voss Cox and was raised on the dairy farm with his brothers, Wilfred and Robert.
He married Mary Lou Lipscomb-Miller in 1980 (33 years) and together their family of five children included Linda Whitmore, Kathy (David) Tecco, Rita (Harold) Lang, Pamela (Richard) Collins and Donnie (Barrie) Miller.

Grampie will be further missed by grandchildren Travis, Adrienne and Adam, all of whom he shared his home with. He will also be missed by grandchildren Michelle, George, Jennifer, Dustin, Kristen, Amantha, Crystal, Kelly and Kyle. Grampie's memory will be carried on by 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Walter enjoyed working as an Amish taxi driver and had many friends within the Amish community. He will also be sadly missed by his faithful companion, Lucky.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley; brother, Wilfred; daughter, Debbie; and a grandson.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Road, Middlefield.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
