WARREN - Khadijah Arifa Hameed, 27, and her newborn baby, Ali Ahmed Ameen Hameed, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at her residence from complications.
Khadijah was born April 20, 1986, in Warren, the daughter of Hassan A. Hameed I and Michalene Hughley Hameed.
Khadijah had been employed at VXI in Youngstown.
She enjoyed gardening, music, doing hair and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Khadijah and Ali leave to mourn their passing, but to rejoice in their eternal peace, her mother; her brothers, Mark (Melanie) Hameed of Warren, Kenny Ray Moore of Arizona, Mahr (Carita) Hameed of Warren and Talif Hameed of Warren; sisters, Sybil Hameed of Canal Winchester, Towanda and Audrea of Warren; aunts, Audrey Walker and Pattie; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins. Special mention to Lisa Herczeg and her children.
There is an African proverb that states, "It takes a village to raise a child." These people were instrumental in helping us support Khadijah after the death of her father, during her transition from childhood to adulthood: Brother Ali and Marcelaine Bashir, James and Debris Gilliam, Leatrice Hameed, Veronica Howard, Melanie Jones and Barbara Murray.
Khadijah and baby Ali were welcomed into Heaven's gates by her father; grandparents, Calvin and Katherine Sneed; uncle, Calvin Sneed; and aunt, Katherine Hardaway.
Khadijah and Ali will be missed by all who knew and loved them.
There will be a memorial service for friends and family from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Tod's Crossing Office Building, 1330 Blakely Circle S.W., Warren, OH 44485.
