WARREN - Michael Scott Rogers, 60, died at 2:58 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home.
Michael was born June 20, 1952, in Akron, the son of the late Max and Gladys Jacot Rogers.
Mr. Rogers attained a master of education degree and taught history. He also coached softball at Howland High School for 10 years and was proud to be a "Lady Tiger." Mike also coached the Warren G. Harding Ladies Softball Team for three years.
He was a general sports fan and was a member of the Cortland Lions Club and the Bazetta Christian Church.
Survivors include his children, Amy (Charles) Clauss and Laura (Ronald) Bays, both of Warren, and Sara (Jeff) Cool of Akron; six grandchildren; one brother, Douglas Rogers of Exeter, N.H.; one cousin, Gail Linden of New York City; and his former wife, Linda McIntyre Rogers.
Other than his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, in Cortland, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Dr. Fred Burkey will celebrate Michael's life.
