BRISTOLVILLE - Helen Eileen Doyle, 84, died at 6:55 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
She was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Moundsville, W.Va., the daughter of the late George W. and Gussie M. Hunt Lohr.
Helen had worked at Sparkle Market in Champion for many years before retiring from Packard Electric.
She was a faithful Christian and attended church regularly before being stricken with health issues. During this time, she enjoyed visiting and ministering to the residents in the various nursing homes.
Helen loved spending her free time in the outdoors. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and the squirrels. Mostly, Helen enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and attending their various extracurricular activities.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Stern of Cortland and Judy (Rich) Perkins of Mecca, who for the last three years of her life took care of her at her home. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Other than her parents, Helen was preceded in death by three brothers.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, in Cortland. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where Mr. Jeffrey Swogger will celebrate Helen's life.
Burial will be in the Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville.
