YOUNGSTOWN - A man who was shot to death Monday evening in a North Side home is the city's fourth homicide of the year.
Kristopher M. Stuart, 26, was found shot to death in a 2127 Elm St. home. A revolver lay within reach of his hands.
Two other people, DeJuan Thomas, 31, and Kalontae Carter, 22, were wounded.
Thomas and Carter both were dropped off at St. Elizabeth Health Center about 9:30 p.m., with Thomas walking in first and telling hospital police, ''I can't believe I was shot,'' reports state.
Carter came in a couple of minutes later and claimed that he was standing outside a Norwood Avenue home when someone in a passing car fired several shots and hit him, reports state.
Police were called to the 2127 Elm St. home about 10:30 p.m. They found Stuart lying on the floor bleeding heavily. Investigators realized after talking to Thomas and Carter that the shootings were related, reports state.
A neighbor told police they heard gunfire about 9:30 p.m., and then more gunfire and people running through their yard.
Another witness told police they walked past the house, saw the door was open and told another neighbor and they both walked in the house, saw Stuart on the floor, and called 911.
Chief Rod Foley did not comment except to say that all three victims are tied to the same house.
The last homicide in the city was March 15.
At this time last year, Youngstown had nine homicides and they had 26 for the year. That number may increase after the skeleton of a man was found on the East Side earlier this year who went missing in November. Police are still investigating that case.
