ANDOVER - Jay Daniel Gerlach Sr., 83, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born July 13, 1929, in Rheems, Pa., the son of Paul S. and Pearl Brehm Gerlach.
Mr. Gerlach served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Eastern Petroleum in Fowler and attended Harvest Baptist Church in Greenville, Pa.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis J. Teubner Gerlach; three daughters, Vicky Amidon of Andover, Linda Hammond of Beaverdale, Pa., and Fay Burnett of Andover; two sons, J. Daniel of Cherry Valley Township and Todd A. of Creston; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marty Grubb of Palmyra, Pa., and Jean Imhoff of Lancaster, Pa.; and a brother, John of Mount Joy, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church, where calling hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
A private interment will take place in Rock Ridge Cemetery.
