Thu., 8:46am: Lowellville company under investigation for how it dumped oilfield waste

LOWELLVILLE Soil Remediation, Inc. and its subsidiaries, Sharon Slag and Gennaro Pavers, Inc., are under investigation for allegedly violating Ohio dumping or federal Clean Water laws for disposing oilfield waste into a hole on their property, Tribune news partner WYTV reported.

The Northeast Ohio Environmental Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant Monday at 6065 Arrel-Smith Road. The task force confiscated company records and 28 soil samples.

The companies face criminal charges and civil penalties.
