WARREN - Nineteen separate federal indictments were unsealed today charging 55 people with various violations of federal narcotics and weapons charges in Warren and the surrounding area.
Forty two people were indicted in state court on similar charges.
Overall, 132 firearms were taken off the street by being purchased or seized.
According to indictments revealed today, there is a conspiracy involving 21 people who are accused of bringing large quantities of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine to Warren from Detroit.
A news conference is going on now at the Warren Police Department with U.S. Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach, ATF Special Agent in Charge Robin Shoemaker, Warren police Chief Tim Bowers and representatives of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Trumbull Ashtabula Group Task Force, Ohio BCI, Youngstown police and others.
