NILES -- As far as Bobby Ludt is concerned, residents in the area of McMenamys Banquet Center on U.S. Route 422 should keep their ears open and file complaints if they think the music is too loud.
Ludt, a 30-year veteran of the police department who recently retired, also added another $150,000 to his retirement fund when he settled the lawsuit he filed against the nightspot and the city over the way his fellow officers enforced the noise ordinance.
The city chipped in $85,000 and McMenamys agreed to pay $65,000 to Ludt to settle the matter, according to a press release from Ludts attorneys earlier this week.
``I am extremely pleased with the outcome of my case. My lawyers, Dave Neel and Bob Housel, did a tremendous job. I hope this puts the problem to rest,'' Ludt said in the release.
