CORTLAND - Elizabeth V. Tillery, 91, passed away peacefully at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Vista Care at the Ridge.
She was born April 17, 1921, in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Margaret Pervay Dorchock.
A 1938 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, she retired in 1977 after working 22 years as a short order operator at Packard Electric Co.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Cortland, and enjoyed baking, canning, making jelly and especially cooking Hungarian dishes.
For several years, she and her husband lived in Florida and previously lived in Cortland.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Tillery Sr., whom she married March 30, 1940; two daughters, Jacqueline (James) Domer and Sallie Pearce, both of Cortland; son, Woody (Gayle) Tillery Jr. of Austintown; eight grandchildren, T. Brad (Leah) Franken of Cortland, Corey B. Franken of Dayton, Amy S. (Jamie) Harris of Virginia Beach, Va., Jaclyn (Casey) Branham of Columbus, Emily (David) Kline of Raleigh, N.C., Terri (Ron) Wentworth of Cochranton, Pa., James Domer of Champion and Mark Domer of Youngstown; 10 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brandi, Ashley, Baylee, Olivia, Kate, Shawn, Chuckie, Morgan and C.J.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Ainsley.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Dorchock, and three sisters, Ann Mattila, Margaret Borocz and Evelyn Disko.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. The Rev. Carl Kish will be the celebrant.
