COLUMBUS (AP) - State representatives are closing in on their answer to Ohio Gov. John Kasich's proposed budget.

The House version of Kasich's $63.2 billion, two-year spending blueprint is expected to be unveiled Tuesday. Lawmakers have been eyeing major changes to some of Kasich's proposals, including the Republican governor's tax policy overhaul, his support for expanding Medicaid under the federal health care law and the administration's new school-funding framework.

The GOP-led House is said to support Kasich's goal of reducing the statewide income tax rate, but many Republican lawmakers don't like how the governor raises the money. Kasich's budget raised taxes on oil and gas drilling and lowered the rate of the sales tax while attaching it to a host of services, from concerts and sports events to legal and accounting services.
