NILES - Deborah G. Rice, 56, of Lincoln Avenue, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Hospice House, Poland.
Deborah was born June 25, 1956, in Warren, a daughter of George and Marcella Sieffert Morris.
A 1974 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, she had been employed by the Niles Veterinary Clinic for 13 years as the receptionist. Her true calling was caring for the pets and their families.
An avid gardener, she had also been employed by the former Niles YMCA. She also enjoyed the surroundings and hiking in Mill Creek Park. She loved and cherished her cats, Sophie, Dizzy, Miles and Rosie.
Debbie is survived by her husband Robert R. Rice, whom she married Dec. 11, 1976; her three sisters, Kathleen A. (Valentino) Valerio of Warren, Patricia M. Mancini of Warren and Nancy E. (Bob) Muir of Southport, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the chapel of the Niles First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Howe officiating. Friends may call for one hour prior to the services in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, 44512, or the Niles First United Methodist Church, 608 N. Crandon Ave., Niles, 44446.
Arrangements and care have been entrusted to the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home.
