WARREN - Velma J. White, 86, passed away Monday evening, April 1, 2013, at White Oak Manor in Warren.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Warren, the daughter of Paul and Julia Planko Oravetz.
A lifelong resident of Warren, she was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and worked for General Electric.
On Oct. 19, 1946, she married Harry E. White Jr., with whom she spent 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2005.
Velma enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, often sewing and crocheting, and could be found helping out her neighbors.
She will be sadly missed by her friend, Susan Wilburn; sister, Betty Snell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; three brothers; and six sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Crown Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel. A funeral service will take place immediately following at noon.
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
