SALEM -- Conservative TV commentator and syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin, whose columns sometimes appear in the Tribune Chronicle, will be the featured speaker at the Columbiana County Republican Party's 2013 Lincoln Day Dinner scheduled for April 19.
GOP Chairman David Johnson said they were obviously thrilled to get someone of Malkin's caliber to be the keynote speaker, with the event being held in the Salem Community Center gymnasium, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Malkin, whose column appears in the Morning Journal, also works as a contributor on Fox News since 2001 and appears frequently on the Sean Hannity Show. She has also authored four best-selling books on current events and politics. Malkin began her journalism career at the Los Angeles Daily News before moving to the Seattle Times.
Johnson said he approached Malkin because of her "high standing among conservatives ... and because there is probably nobody in journalism that is any more informed about the issues of the day."
