NILES - Fay P. Gimma, 77, passed away peacefully at 6 a.m. Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Olive Hill, Ky., the daughter of Joseph and Ada L. Holbrooks Parker Sr. and lived in this community most of her life.
She retired on Sept. 1, 1999, after working 30 years at the Packard Electric Co.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with her best friends. She cherished the time spent with her family and all the family activities.
Fay is survived by two daughters, Judy Russo of Niles and Joanna (Stephen) Miely of Sandusky; five grandchildren, Natalie, Michael, Lesley Ann, Berkley and Nick; a great-grandson, Ashton; a brother, Joseph Parker of West Virginia; a sister, Patty Greenfield of McDonald; and a step-daughter, Tina Roison of Niles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark A. Gimma Sr., whom she married on Nov. 12, 1966, and who died on May 10, 2008; two sisters, Frances Mowery and Ruth Williams; three brothers, Jesse Parker, William David Parker and infant Woodrow Parker; and a stepson, Mark A. Gimma Jr.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Church.
Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
