WARREN - John D. Allman, 73, passed into eternal life Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center of natural causes.
On Feb. 2, 1940, in Warren, Donald Clayton and Marion Louise Alden Allman were blessed with the birth of their son, John.
John had lived in the Warren area most of his life, working as a maintenance worker for General Motors for 33 years before retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the Grace Cathedral in Akron. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, hunting and golfing.
Memories of John will be carried on by his loving family, his companion, Donna M. Elko of Warren; his daughters, Anita Acord of Leavittsburg, Mardale Finchan of Warren, Crystal Elko of Warren and Brenda Lee Shionsky of Vermont; his sons, John (LeeAnn) Allman of Huntington, W.Va., and Robert Harvey Elko of Warren; his sisters, Alberta Langdon of California and Dorothy Roos of Warren; his brother, Tom (Sue) Allman of Newton Falls; his 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his his parents; his sister, Joan Thomas; and his brothers, Fred Allman and Donald C. Allman Jr.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m.
