NILES - Ralph C. DeMarco, 75, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at Northside Medical Center.
Ralph was born July 17, 1937, in Youngstown's Brier Hill district, the son of Patsy and Madeline Colucci DeMarco.
Ralph was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and worked as an electrician with Delphi Packard Electric, retiring in 2003.
He was a Catholic by faith, a member of Anglers Anonymous, the Western Reserve Fish and Game Association and the Silver Sneakers.
Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His wife, the former Ruth E. Sopik, whom he married in 1957, passed away May 10, 2010.
Ralph will be sadly missed by seven children, Patty (Ron) Martin, Dolores DeMarco, Barb (Bill) Gacura, Kathy (Joe) Szalay, Mark DeMarco, Tom (Michele) DeMarco and Cecily DeMarco; eight grandchildren, Melanie (Danny) Marsh, Pam (Jeronimo) Pena-Martin, David (Tara) Martin, Greg Gacura, Matt Gacura, Nicholette DeMarco, Jeremy DeMarco and Rachele DeMarco; three great-grandchildren, Lucas and Zachary Martin and Adela Pena-Martin; three brothers, Frank, Jimmy and Pat DeMarco; and one sister, Rose Mary Connelly.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one grandson, John.
Ralph was a giving and caring person, even after his death by donating his corneas, long bone and tissue to help at least 50 people.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Niles Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastors Mark Rasey and Rodney Mullins from Leavittsburg Church of God officiating.
