WARREN - George Vadas Jr., 69, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Redlands, Calif., the son of George J. Sr. and Ann J. Vadas.
George was a 1962 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He retired from American Welding Manufacturing as a machinist after 25 years. George was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. Cyril and Methodius Church).
He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and going to the track.
George was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother of Warren; three children, Renee Vadas of Southington, Dee Dee Vadas of Newton Falls and Suzanne Vadas of Warren; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Joseph; and two sisters, Gloria (Tom) Bertleff of Champion and Donna Wasko of Warren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter, Lynn Vadas.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren. A funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Stealy officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland with full military honors.
