WARREN TOWNSHIP - Two West Virginia residents were arrested Wednesday in connection with a home burglary on the 3300 block of Palmyra Road that occurred shortly after midnight.
Charles Crum, 31, of 209 4th St., Spencer, W.Va., and Jack Williams, 28, 130 Meadowville, Ripley, W. Va., were arrested in Jackson County, W. Va., for their parts in the Warren Township robbery.
The men initially have been charged with receiving stolen property and having weapons under disability.
Lt. Don Bishop, Warren Township police, reports the department received a call from a neighbor of the home that was burglarized, shortly after midnight. Upon investigation, the police found that numerous guns and crossbows, as well as jewelry and other items were taken from the house.
"We believe that a woman who knows the owner of the house contacted the two men to have them burglarize the house," Bishop said.
The two men traveled back to West Virginia.
"We believe they knew we were after them, so they placed the stolen items in a duffel bag with other items and buried them," he said.
Both men were eventually captured by law enforcement officials in West Virginia.
The items from the Palmyra Road residence were recovered.
