GIVE KIDS A SMILE TO TREAT CHILDREN: The 11th annual Give Kids a Smile Ohio program of the Ohio Dental Association at which dentists and other volunteers in Ohio educate, examine and/or treat children who do not have access to dental care, is being held Friday at Youngstown State University Dental Hygiene Clinic, One University Plaza, Youngstown; Choffin School of Dental Assisting Clinic, 200 E. Wood St., Youngstown; and the Dental residency clinic at St. Elizabeth Humility of Mary Hospital.
Dentists and other volunteers hope to provide the free dental services to 200 children through the Youngstown area Give Kids a Smile programs.
Give Kids a Smile Ohio is an annual program of the Ohio Dental Association and component dental societies throughout the state.

CHAPLAIN TO LEAD GRIEF SUPPORT: Beginning on March 13 at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Donald Barnes, chaplain with Senior Independence, will be leading a Grief Support Group at the Lake Vista Retirement Community. Representatives of the SI clinical team will serve as co-facilitators of the monthly event. The one-hour meeting will convene in the private dining room in the Park Place Building on the Lake Vista Campus.
Support group discussions will include, but not be limited to, such topics as: the Stages of Grief; Reinvesting in Life; Taking Care of the Spirit; Children Grieve Too; and When Family and Friends Grieve Differently. The program is offered by Senior Independence Hospice at no cost to participants. The community is invited and encouraged to participate in this thoughtful, informative, and transformative conversation.

ALZHEIMER NETWORK TO PRESENT AUCTION: The Alzheimer Network, also known as the Alzheimer's Assistance and Referral Network Inc., will present its 9th annual charity auction March 16 at Avion on the Water, 2177 Western Reserve Road, Canfield.
The theme of the event will be "Valley Memories," celebrating the past successes of the Valley with a look to the future of new endeavors. Live, silent and basket auctions will offer many choices with a wide variety of items such as Magnavox 26" LCD television, a Kindle Paperwhite, Keurig coffeemaker and more. Attendees may also participate in a 50-50 raffle and all ticket holders will be eligible for the door prize. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Steve Fazzini Productions with a diverse blend of musical styles.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for guests to shop the tables of auction items. The buffet dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with the auctions beginning afterwards. Tickets to the event are available by contacting The Alzheimer Network office at 330-788-9744. Individual tickets are $42.50 with tables of eight available at $325. Event sponsorships will be available until March 15 with donations accepted until March 19.
The Alzheimer Network is an all volunteer non-profit organization providing support to local families. Alzheimer Network services are offered in Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana in Ohio and Mercer County in Pennsylvania but information is denied to no one. NILES OFFERS IMMUNIZATIONS: Niles City Health Department, 34 W. State St., is offering immunization clinics from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. March 6 and 20. Child's immunization records are needed and the child should be feeling well, with no illness, fever or rash. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
GIRARD OFFERS IMMUNIZATIONS: The well-child immunization clinic will be held March 13 in the Girard health Department located in the City Building. A $10 fee will be charged per child. Dr. James J. Enyeart, medical Director, will conduct the examinations. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child's immunization record.
