CORTLAND - Lawrence Haffner, 73, of Cortland, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born June 5, 1939, in Bristol, the son of the late Ralph and Myrtle Brewer Haffner.
Mr. Haffner was employed at Copperweld Steel Corp for 36 years, from where he retired as a millwright.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching westerns on TV.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, the former Janet Beathe Haffner of Cortland; and two daughters, Terri (Larry) Saxon of Diamond and Denise Long of Navasota, Texas. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Josh (Carly) Saxon, Zachary Saxon, Emily (Ryan) Sprout, Miranda (Daniel) Julian and Michael Long; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Butler, Dylan Saxon, Noah Sprout, Hunter Julian, Joseph Julian, Austin Julian, Nathaniel Julian and Riley Julian; along with a brother, John Haffner of Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Roberts.
Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday at the Shiloh Full Gospel Church, 1310 Shannon Road, Liberty Township, OH 44420. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church. Pastor Nick Furrie will officiate.
