FOWLER - Patricia Benning ONeil, 73, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 28, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
She was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Fowler, the daughter of Edward and Julia Bodi Benning.
She retired in 2003, after working 25 years as a customer service representative for Farm Credit Services in Orwell.
She was a member of Fowler Community Church, where she was a member of the choir. She was also a member of Eastern Star Hartford Chapter 518, the Howland SCOPE Center, and was a volunteer at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital.
She took up golf after retiring and belonged to several leagues; enjoyed bowling, bocce, square dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren, being a permanent fixture at their sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Nick ONeil, whom she married Dec. 28, 1991; a daughter, retired U.S.Air Force Master Sgt. Sheryl "Sheri" DeJean and her life partner, Vincent Quagliariello of Fowler; two sons, Jerry A. "Chip" (Connie) DeJean of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Bruce E. (Pam) DeJean of Fowler; seven grandchildren, Jake, Bobbi, Brandon, Jerry Jr., Cheston, Anthony and Alivia; and a foster brother, Curtis E. "Butch" Penrose of Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sons, Paul and Eddie DeJean.
Friends and relatives may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Dugan Cemetery, Fowler.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Alzheimer Disease Research, 4 West U.P.M.C., 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213, where she participated in a study group since 2000.
