YOUNGSTOWN - The Cafaro Foundation has given Youngstown's Ursuline High School a $500,000 grant to continue its mission of educating students.

According to a news release, part of the funding will be used to help students pay tuition through Ursuline's Adopt-A-Student scholarship program. The remainder of the money will be directed to capital projects, such as installing new advanced technology, renovating the school's science laboratories, upgrading equipment and refurbishing student work stations.

Ursuline High School principal Patricia Fleming said the grant "will significantly enhance science instruction particularly in the areas of advanced placement biology and chemistry. All of us at Ursuline are grateful beyond measure to members of the Cafaro Family and to the Cafaro Foundation for their ongoing commitment to Catholic education in the Mahoning Valley."
