CORTLAND - Marilyn Blewitt, 78, of Cortland, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Concord Care Center in Hartford.
She was born April 7, 1934, in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Clara Rose McCready Moyer.
Marilyn moved with her parents to Youngstown in 1945 and then graduated from Rayen High School in 1952. She received her diploma as a registered nurse from Northside Hospital and then went on to graduate from Youngstown State University with her bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1971.
She was employed by Northside Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Health Center and the Visiting Nurses Association of Youngstown before retiring in 1998.
Marilyn was a member of the Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church of Youngstown, where she was active with the United Methodist Women and Mother's Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Charles) Welshhans of Cortland; a son, Jeffrey A. (Ursula) Blewitt of Austintown; and a granddaughter, Amy Welshhans.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Interment will be in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
