COLUMBUS - Millard Eldridge "Bud" Perdue, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born on July 12, 1924, in Greenup, Ky., the son of William R. and Etta P. Henderson Perdue.
Millard retired as a bookkeeper from Keystone Brass in Erie, Pa., with over 40 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.
Millard was a persistent gentleman who loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens, growing beans, potatoes and corn to feed his family. He was honored by Pennsylvania for never missing to vote in an election for 50 years.
Millard is survived by his children, Everett Ray (Betty) Perdue, Mary Jane Drake, James Perdue and John (Michelle) Perdue; grandchildren, Ray (Hayen) Perdue Jr., John (Janet) Perdue Jr., Kristen (Jeff Radachy) Perdue, Gregory Perdue, Lorrie Perdue and Sean Stazen; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew Bill (Dot) Gray; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
Millard was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mina Perdue; son Roger Dale Perdue and his siblings William Perdue, Katherine Gray and Leona Brown.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Grace of God Lutheran Church, 1000 Demorest Road, Columbus 43204 with Pastor Mark Diemer officiating.
