WARREN - Martin L. "Jack" Baumann, 96, passed away peacefully at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.12, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley Niles following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 5, 1916, in Arnold, Pa., the son of Martin and Bessie Black Baumann.
An area resident since 1943 coming from New Kensington, Pa., Jack retired from the Quality Control Department at Packard Electric on Jan 1, 1982, after 39 years of service.
He was an active member of Old Erie 3 Masonic Lodge, as well as the Ali Baba grotto, Morning Light Chapter 80 Order of Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite-Valley of Youngstown. He also was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Warren, BPO Elks 295 and the Buckeye Club.
His beloved wife of 71 years, June Alter Baumann, whom he married July 9, 1940, preceded him in death on April 30, 2012. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, one of whom was his twin; six brothers; and his son-in-law, John Bellock.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Judith J. Bellock of Manassas, Va.; granddaughter, Jeanine (Joao) Blomberg of Fairfax, Va.; and three great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Morgan and Phoebe.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Roberts-Clark Chapel, Lane Family Funeral Home. Old Erie Lodge F &AM will conduct a Masonic service at 4 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren, where friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until service time. Pastor Ann Marie Winters will officiate.
A private entombment will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
The family suggests material contributions be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to Shepherd of the Valley.
