MINERAL RIDGE - June Lavonadale Smith, 82, of 3830 Main St., died at 11:36 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Health Center, Warren, following an extended illness.
She was born June 22, 1930, in Cleveland, the daughter of Sam and Hanna Belle Reed Farley Sr.
Ms. Smith was employed with Van Huffel Steel Co. for nine years as a union stewart, retiring in 1985. She was a member of New Covenant Church of God in Christ.
She leaves eight sons, Farley Clinton Smith of Akron, Malcotis Smith of Meadville, Pa., Aaron Linton Smith of Mineral Ridge and Clinton O. Smith Jr., Octavius Quentin Smith and Finale O. Smith, all of Niles, William Lockwood of Cleveland and King Arthur Marsh of Warren; two daughters, Alicia Smith of Atlanta and Sardia Jordan of Mansfield; one sister, Dorothy Cross of Cleveland; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Junotis Lockwood and Mara Smith.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service.
Burial will be at Kerr Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
