HOWLAND - Michael A. "Mike" Zuzolo, 83, went to the Lord peacefully with his family at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland and after a courageous battle with failing health.
He was born July 5, 1929, in Meadville, Pa., the son of Mattio and Pompellia Zuzolo.
Mike came to Warren in 1967 and retired from GM Assembly Plant on the assembly line and maintenance department after 25 years.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-St. James Church.
Mike enjoyed wood carving, gardening, bingo, traveling to casinos and animals. His great love was his children, grandchildren and his Italian traditions - especially Christmas Eve dinner. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mike is survived by his children, Theresa J. DeLuca of Vienna and Michael F. Zuzolo of Minnesota; granddaughter Michelle Marie Marchand of Indianapolis; stepchildren Jeffrey (Debbie) Giggone and Dennis (Joellen) Giggone; six stepgrandchildren; his sister Jeanette (Jack) Roberts of Marrietta, Ga.; and his former wife Nancy J. Bednarczyk of Cortland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Zuzolo, who died Aug. 28, 2012; parents; his brother Matthew Zuzolo; sisters Carmella Rossi and Elvira Lotitto; and his stepmother, Vincenzia Zuzolo.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-St. James Church, 2532 Burton St. S.E., Warren, with Rev. Christopher Cicero officiating, with full military honors at the church.
Burial will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery in Meadville, Pa.
