HOWLAND - Stephen F. DeOreo, 92, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his residence.
Stephen was born March 8, 1920, in East Liverpool, the son of Stephen and Vivian DeOreo.
Stephen came to Howland in the early 1970s from Youngstown. He retired from Packard Electric as a tool and die maker after 22 years.
He was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Vienna.
He belonged to Austintown Eagles and Warren SCOPE. He had performed in leading roles in their Follies for years, and also performed in entertaining for area senior citizens groups and nursing homes.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Ethel DeOreo, whom he married May 3, 1941; two children, Stephen (Cheryl) DeOreo of North Canton and Carolyn (Edwin) Kirkland of Cortland; four grandchildren, William (Lori), Chris (Stacey), Shawn (Michelle) Fagan and Steve J. (Heather) DeOreo; and five great-grandchildren, Adrian, Conner and Hannah Fagan, and Brandon and Harmony Sampson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold DeOreo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Queen of Holy Rosary Parish, with the Rev. Denis Bouchard officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Cortland, with full Military Honors.
