HUBBARD - Mary J. Chislom, 65, formerly of Warren, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at her home.
She was born June 29, 1947, in Warren, the daughter of Paul and Pennie Taylor Valentz and was a lifelong Warren resident.
Mrs. Chislom received her GED through Warren G. Harding High School and was an Evangelist Minister at Mount Calvary Church in Youngstown for 20 years. She was a member of Greater Apostolic Faith Church in Warren, where she was also an evangelist minister. Mary loved to play bingo and especially loved her grandchildren and her bird, Tweety.
Mary leaves a son, Robert L. Purdy of Warren; three daughters, Lisa A. (William) Phillips of Hubbard, Pamela L. Motton of Hubbard and Carrie I. Purdy of Mineral Ridge; two brothers, Lewis Valentz of Farmdale and Eugene (Darlene) Valentz of Lillian, Ala.; a sister, Janice Lenhart of Warren, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two half-brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James W. Purdy; and a brother, Milton Bailey.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Elder Phillip Shealey officiating.
Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
