SHARON, Pa. - Lillian Banoczi Scutillo, 84, of 15 W. Connelly Blvd., passed away at 5:11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System.
Lillian was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Urban Banoczi.
She was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Sharon High School.
She was employed for 10 years at the former North Side Hospital, Youngstown, where she worked in the sterile processing and distribution department. She previously worked for six years in the display department at the former Sharon store.
Lillian was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermitage, Pa.
She enjoyed crafting, reading and antiquing, and was extremely fond of animals. A self-proclaimed "beachcomber," she loved walking the beaches searching for shells and driftwood.
Surviving are a loving and devoted daughter, Lillian Sandra Scutillo of Howland; a son, Thomas Scutillo of Warren; a sister, Joan Maloney of Baltimore; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Banoczi; and a sister, Mary Yurco.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Mercer County, 3005 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148.
Calling hours are from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon, Pa. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Hake, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, Pa., officiating.
Entombment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
