STEUBENVILLE - A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Feb. 20 before Jefferson County Juvenile Judge Sam Kerr for Kordel Moncreace, 16, of Steubenville in connection with two shooting deaths on Jan. 30.
An initial appearance hearing was held Wednesday before Kerr.
Moncreace has been charged with two counts of murder, with firearm specifications.
City Police were called around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 30 to the Heritage Place Apartments on Market Street after receiving reports that shots had beenfired.
City Police said Ryan Toson, 21, and Otavius Wilson, 19, both of Steubenville, were taken to Trinity Medical Center West with multiple gunshot wounds, where they were both pronounced dead.
Assistant County Prosecutor Samuel Pate said the court had to make sure Moncreace was served copies of the charges and understands the consequences of the probable cause hearing.
Kerr said Moncreace will be automatically bound over to adult court if probable cause is found at the hearing.
Kerr said Moncreace faces 15 years to life on each of the murder charges, plus three years on the gun specifications, if the case is bound over to adult court.
