The Youngstown State University football team isn't looking far for players to add to their 2013 recruiting class.
According to Brookfield coach Randy Clark late Monday night, Brookfield star running back Ryan Mosora will sign his Letter of Intent to play with the Penguins.
Mosora was second in the county in total rushing yards, putting up 1,704 yards in 10 games and scoring 20 touchdowns. He averaged an astounding 10.4 yards per carry.
Mosora was a first-team All-District selection and was a second-team All-Ohio selection.
Joining Mosora on the Penguins is Poland kicker Connor McFadden, who is carrying on the family tradition.
Connor is the son of former YSU and NFL kicker Paul, who kicked for the Penguins from 1980-83.
YSU is getting a great foot in McFadden. During his career at Poland, he set records for field goals (19) and PATs (108).
Mosora and McFadden are just two of the many athletes making their college committments today.
The bigger names who are formally committing to major universities are Warren G. Harding's LeShun Daniels (Iowa) and Jaylynn Powell (Michigan State), Howland's De'Veon Smith (University of Michigan) and Austintown Fitch's Bill Price (Ohio State University).
Today marks the initial signing date for football. The period ends on April 1.
