AKRON - A couple of Warren G. Harding athletes took first at Saturday's University of Akron High School Showcase.
Freshman Justice Richardson won the girls 60-meter dash (7.93 seconds) and senior Aminah Wesley was fourth (8.12).
Sophomore James Daniels was first in the boys shot put (49 feet, 5 inches).
Harding's girls 4x800 relay team of seniors Kayla Statema and Sharonna Autrey, junior Leaha Zachery and freshman Mikayla Peterson was second (11:19.18).
John F. Kennedy sophomore Chad Zallow was second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.26), while WGH junior Deonte Morgan was third (8.75).
WGH's 4x800 boys relay team of seniors Zaven Bennett and Jimmy Rumple, junior Corliss Eggleston and sophomore Kyle Ritenour was third (8:48.91).
Zallow was fourth in the boys 200 (23.06), while his brother, a junior, was fifth (24.81).
JFK junior Morgan Rice was fourth in the girls 60 hurdles (9.58), while WGH senior Candi Jones was fifth (10.14).
In the boys 800, Rumple was fifth (2:02.44).
Finally, WGH senior LeShun Daniels was fifth in the boys long jump (17-10).
